My experience with Advanced Tours & travel in Uganda has been just fantastic. What a joy to get REAL personal attention. They know everything about what Uganda has to offer. I have done safaris in South Africa, Kenia and Zambia. Safaris in those countries are kind of ' mass tourism ' nowadays. But in Uganda Advanced Tours & Travel showed me around as a VIP. By the way Gorilla's are really special of course but do not forget to check out the source of the Nile in Jinja!

"Gulu Eclipse trip"
I organised a trip for 21 persons to view the total eclipse of the sun in Gulu, N Uganda in Nov 2013 with the help of Advanced Tours & Travel. They organised accommodation in 6 different places including lodges, organised collection from different places at the start before bringing them together in Gulu. 11 travelled on to Nairobi, the others returned home at 6 different times. AT&T organised these transfers seamlessly reducing the number of vehicles left when numbers allowed and also arranging a change to local safari vans once in Kenya. Communication during planning was very good and quick, they were resourceful when I needed their advice over choices and most accommodating. There were no hitches and the prices were extremely good. I had used AT&T before and they fully met expectations. 5* for organising such a complicated group!

Being my first trip to Africa and choosing Uganda, I had limited expectations. A recommendation lead me to Advance Tours & Travel. From my first correspondence with this company, I was treated very well concerning all aspects of the trip from airport transfers, hotels, safari experience, advice and communication during my trip. I booked a gorilla trek for my son and myself which was a peak experience that I highly recommend. We also had the most wonderful driver for the entire trip who was not only knowledgeable about the areas we visited, but gave me complete confidence for our safety on mountainous muddy roads.
Advance Tours & Travel really listened to what I wanted to experience and designed every aspect to exceed my wishes. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Communication was first class - due to the distance we had to communicate by email but Patience was always very quick to reply and would always answer my questions/concerns or help me with any extra queries re: Uganda.
She tailor made our tour for our dates/areas of interest - we even added visits to Orphanages outside our tour which Patience and her colleagues organised as well as took us there!
We ( 2 young women) felt very well looked after and safe all through the Safari. Was a memorable trip that I still talk about to people I meet.

We have used Advanced Tours for many years, and the service has always been excellent. Patience Keburingi has dealt with our requests swiftly and efficiently, her communication skills are first class, and the many, many arrangements she has made for us have been faultless. Because of Patience many students and staff from a very small English town have been able to have a fantastic Ugandan experience. Similarly, many Ugandan teachers from Namutumba have been able to fly to UK often at very short notice (because of visa hold-ups) thanks to Patience. We have no hesitation in recommending her services to other travellers.

We did a 4 night 5 day safari through Open Africa Safaris and had a fantastic time. From start to finish John the owner was excellent. Note only that he was helpful and made us feel very welcome , but he is also a true gentleman. In fact, he even changed our flights for us while we were on our safari.
On our safari our guide Anthony was very friendly, knowledgeable, open minded, and very experienced. He has visited in the USA 3 times, and so spoke great English and nothing was too much trouble for him. He did everything he could to make our safari experience special. The meals we had , cooked by Joseph , were also very delicious and we had plenty of food all the time.
Overall we had an excellent Safari experience seeing everything we wanted to see and would have no hesitation in recommending this Open Africa Safaris to anyone.

Communications= a small glitch at the beginning relating to the meals of the driver while on safari. On first day at lunch, the driver seemed confused who should pay for his lunch. We had to call Jinja office to clarify.
Expectations= the vehicle was in good condition, it was comfortable. The hotels were nice and friendly. The service was excellent.
